AI Prevention Zone due to be lifted as anticipated on May 15th in most of England except for specific areas in Lancashire, Cumbria and Merseyside.
Good news for agricultural shows that have a poultry tent. There will be an ammendment to the General Licence which will be available on the Defra website on May 15th or 16th.
You would be wise to continue to take precautions to separate your birds from wild birds, in particular waterfowl. Do not assume that the virus has died out. More a case of we do not know where it is and I would not like you to find out the hard way.

Defra reports
“A 3km protection zone and 10km surveillance zone are currently in place in Thornton, Wyre, Lancashire.
The flock is estimated to contain around 30 birds. A number have died and the remaining live birds at the premises are being humanely culled. A full investigation is under way to determine the source of the infection.”
This will put pressure on Defra not to lift the AI prevention zone on May 15th.
A disaster for eveyone.
