Unfortunately, there has now been a confirmed case of H5N8 avian ‘flu killing growing turkeys on December 16th in Lincolnshire.
This is the same strain that has caused the outbreaks in the rest of Europe. Presumably, it was introduced by migrating waterfowl.
The UK housing order remains in force with extra controls in the protection and surveillance zones around the infected turkey farm.
